Recession at its finest

Recession is killing me…

To those who aren’t convinced that I am affected by the Global Economic Recession, here’s a proof…

Last year….

Mind you… Macy’s…

This year…

Oh! I don’t even want to look at it… it breaks my heart…

2008 – Golden Age
2009 – Recession
2010 – don’t tell me it’s depression! I die!

Moro inspired Lacoste Headband

I was not supposed to update this blog today as I was so tired of doing Window Shopping for Christmas presents… 3 days to go before December and I am still haven’t checked half of my list. In this times of recession, can I just simply greet you with a Happy Holidays???

3:00PM in Manila, in the comfort of my room… I came across to Chuvaness blog and found this…

Nahulog ako sa kama ko!

Since when did Lacoste manufacture and design head band inspired by traditional Mindanao cloth? I read that it’s called “putong” or a head band used by Moro Warriors.

Napaka fashionista naman pala ni Mayor Ampatuan… Naka Argyle inspired headband… and Lacoste pa! Dinaig ako!

By the way, I wore black this morning as the entire nation was asking for it in seeking justice for the 57 people murdered in Maguindanao. Rest In Peace.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to each and everyone in the United States of America!

I wish I could be there but you know, it’s recession… depression? Hope Not!

Gosh! Black Friday is around the corner… and I miss the lines so much! The crowded stores… the long lines to the cashier… the $1 shirts, buy 1 take 1, uber discounted branded items, the people running around the mall just to grab the stuffs they wanted and of course, Turkey and Cheesecake!

Waaaaahhhhhh… I’m sad na!

Thanksgiving 2008 – Part 3

I woke up that morning hungry.. very hungry.. I forgot to eat dinner last night… I just watched the Fireworks video on YouTube…

It was a beautiful morning.. the weather is cold, it was raining outside. As I was fixing myself and my stuffs, I suddenly remember that it’s Thanksgiving!

Geesh! It’s my very first Thanksgiving! I went out from my room and noticed that no one’s around. The car is not in the parking space and no one is in the laundry area… I checked out the fridge for some food and found the Chicken and Dirty rice from last night. Grabbed ‘em and placed it in the microwave.

As I was waiting for my breakfast, I noticed that the kitchen is quite messy already. My tita is starting for the Thanksgiving dinner and maybe she run out of something and decided to run into the nearest Ralph’s to buy some stuffs.

I powered on the TV and watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. Gosh! What if I stayed in Jersey till I fly back to Manila? I might’ve seen Miley Cyrus, Shontelle and Charice Pempengco singing at the floats. I grabbed my camera and capture some photos off the TV.

After about an hour or so, my phone rang and it was my tita. She was asking for some help to grab some groceries from the car. I gave some help right away and asked where they’ve been. She told me that they went to see a mass and check out Seafood City for something we might need that night.

From then on, we’ve been busy cooking for the dinner. My cousin and his father just watched the TV all day while my tita and I were in the kitchen. We decided to cook my favorite siomai, lasagna, Roast Turkey, Nido Soup, Honey Glazed Ham, and the Cheesecake we picked up the other night.. Raspberry Truffles Cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory! I tell you its YUM!

Mind you I can eat all that!

We end up cooking at around 9PM. The Mexican call it a night while myself, my cousin and tita spoiled ourselves with all the food! I was so full with all those giant siomai and turkey stuffings… I don’t even have room for the cake.

My Pathetic Thanksgiving Photo

I decided to stay awake until the clock jumps into 12:00 AM… We gathered our things up, jumped into the car and head to Navy Exchange ‘coz it’s Black Friday!

Black Friday is the most awaited and biggest Sale Season in the US! Here, you’ll find lots of clothes, gadgets and appliances in huge discounts! There was a lot of discounts given but I was only able to brought home HP Multi Function Printer for $19, Digital Photo Frame for $25, exchange my cologne to a gift box set (sayang ang after-shave and shower gel.. LOL), chocolates buy 1 take 1, DS Lite with 1 game and case, Coach Wristlet for Ate Lanie and some stuffs for my lola.

In conclusion, my first Thanksgiving was fun amidst of what had happened in LA and Anaheim. I was actually hoping to celebrate this day once again but this time in East Coast as I want to watch the Macy’s Parade. Soon… when my sister’s family is in the US already, I’ll make it a point to always celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays with my nephew.
