The Journey Of A Simple Guy In Finding The Best Of Life

And so the much anticipated phone call from Globe Telecom happened yesterday!
As I was doing my usual assignment in my room, my phone just suddenly play Empire State of Mind which means that someone is calling me. I reached for it in my bag and checked out who is calling. Normally, the phone will speak out the caller’s name if the number is in my phone book but for some reasons, it just keeps on playing.
When the caller informed me that she was from Globe, my heart stops beating as I’m sure it has to do with my reservation/retention. I ruled out about my billing as I haven’t gotten my statement yet so the nerve of them reminding me to pay my monthly phone bill.
And I was right, my supposedly Christmas gift for myself, the one thing that I truly wishes to have last Christmas – the iPhone 3GS have finally arrived after 4 effin’ months!
Last December, the last time I called Globe to check on my reservation, I told myself that if the phone didn’t show up by December 31st, that means it is not meant for me. That is only sign I asked if I really have to get the phone, of course until an updated version will be launched. I never got the call from Globe.
As the representative is discussing on where to claim the phone, modes of payment, credit card offers, yaddi yadda yadda… I was actually in the state of doubt of my decision last December. Maybe I could reconsider that’s why I asked for a callback after an hour to think… to wake myself and convinced that this is the reality. This is it! But, do I really need it?
My wants and needs are rattling on my mind and I’m not sure if I have to let go or swipe out. I was just on my bed with my back laid down and thinking. Honestly, I can’t decide and I was like on that state until my phone rings again. It was her!
She asked me if I already made my decision, for some unknown reason I told her that I will be declining the offer. It was actually funny that I voiced out my disappointment that I needed the phone for Christmas and not the Lenten Season – may pagtatampo ba? hahaha She apologizes and gave the usual explanation.
After the conversation, I got this thinking that I made a grown up decision. I really don’t need a new phone this time. My precious E71 is very functional and if I was able to stand with my Nokia 7650 for decades and flaunt it in Singapore, Hongkong, China, Malaysia, Bangkok, Macau and Indonesia, then why can’t I do that to my E71? I know, an iPhone would complete my Mac family but there’s still some other time.
So for the mean time, I can dedicate this song to my supposedly iPhone 3GS 16GB Black…
I hope you’ll land into a good and fabulous owner.
Note that I was actually wishing of not to regret the decision I made as I was writing this… LOL

Sunday Nights for me are normally Movie Nights. Here, I got to stay in my room all night to watch my DVD collections or movies I bought or rented in iTunes.
Last Friday, I was searching for an iTunes Gift Card on eBay that I can use in buying something online. I found this awesome deal of getting any iTunes card for more than 60% off! It’s an awesome deal I tell you! So after receiving the account I bought, I scanned through iTunes store to check on something that I can watch tonight.
Around 2AM this Sunday Morning, I downloaded Rent Musical recorded on Broadway as I wasn’t able to buy myself a ticket for the RCBC show this February. Rent as we all know is a musical about enjoying life and living in New York. You know me – I have this thing for New York City.

The film is great! It’s as if I am in the theatre watching the show myself. I remember when I watched The Lion King at Minskoff Theatre, that’s one of the highlight of my trip! Watching the movie that I love in Broadway! iLoveIt!

So tonight, I have the following ready for my movie nights:
1. Inglorious Basterds (Rented)

2. Little Manhattan (Purchased)

3. Material Girls (Rented)

I love renting on iTunes. For as low as $ 0.99, you can enjoy a outstanding quality of movie. Rentals will last for 30 days and 24 hours to finish it from the day you started watching it. Cool huh!?

God is good!
Early last year, I was given a great offer from Globe to get an iPhone for a lower deal through loyalty program. They were just offering the 3G models that time. I got excited with the news but jump to a decision to decline the offer due to two reasons: 1) I can’t have it on retention plan since the two years lock period for the free phone they have given to me last 2007 has not yet passed (they were offering the iPhone to me at a lower price with a new line); and 2) Yes… I’m on recession and was thinking that an updated version will be released any time soon. And so 3Gs models were shipped out. I was so ecstatic that I made the right decision and waited until the 2-year lock period is over.
Around October last year, I have decided that I want an iPhone 3Gs for Christmas. I’ve contacted Globe and was placed to waiting list as they don’t have stocks yet for retention plans. I have given myself until 31st of December before I let go of the hope of owing an iPhone to add to my Apple Family. And yet, I failed to experience a white christmas and a black iPhone.
I believe in the saying that everything happens for a reason and I hope that this is the answer to my question on why I am still using an E71 at this time.
This all I want for my birthday!
It’s AMAZING! So excited with iBooks! I can’t believe that they have thought of that! This is A MUST!
Still have enough time to save! I have to talk to my tita now and check on how we can ship it without charges!
… oh I forgot! I need an out of town trip too on my birthday!

The much anticipated event is on its way!
Apple will be unveiling their latest updates on their products on the 27th of January 2010 in San Francisco, California at 10:00 AM (January 28, 2:00 AM Manila). This is so exciting as this event will reveal if Apple Tablet will just remain in our dreams or will be another reason for our recession state!
I can’t wait! Need to cut back on my expenses for possible upgrades on my Macbook and iPod! From this moment on, my ATM, credit cards, discount cards, membership cards and all cards will be locked in my safety box. My savings account will be forgotten, and I will go home straight every after shift. No other expenses except for transportation and coffee… that’s my motivating factor, leave it to me!
With all of these, why don’t you just kill me?
