Something just arrived from New York!
The long wait is over! It’s here!
Actually it arrived a day early than expected but I was too tired to claim it from the postal office. Thanks to my dad for being so nice to claim my parcel on my behalf.
It will be another lovely display on my book shelves.
I just got back home from a quick trip at The Block.
Well, not that I despise going to SM Malls but I really think the mall has nothing new to offer its buyers. Of course, there’s the usual Watsons, the department store, supermarket and so on but every time that I get a chance (not that I really have to schedule it but i really don’t have time to go there) to go there, its like i wouldn’t last an hour or two (except if I’m with someone) and then head out.
Anyway, it’s quite sometime now since my last visit at The Block. I was hunting for a book that is not yet released in the US and I thought of going to Fullybooked for maybe, and only maybe they already have it. After checking out their shelves, it turned out that they still don’t have it but they can order it for me but it will most likely arrived in 2 – 3 months. I can’t wait that long! I can have it shipped it less than a month. I end up buying another book from Michael Tonello… Bringing Home the Birkin…
After picking up the book, I decided to stroll around the newly developed Sky Garden at SM North. As I walk outside from the mall, I thought that the place is totally a ghost town. It’s not yet fully developed as the area is not filled with restaurants yet but it is trying to be an Ayala Mall with all that open space area. I think the plan of having a terrace in the heart of EDSA is such big disaster. Who will enjoy dining out with all that noise from motorists and the polluted air?
SM North EDSA may be one of the biggest malls in Asia or in the world but NOT the FINEST. Ayala Malls, on the other hand is the BEST! It’s the Nature in the heart of the Metro.
How would you like to have the male version for The Devil Wears Prada?
Spin by Robert Rave is a story of a fresh graduate young man named Taylor Green (Andrea Sachs for TDWP) from Mid West who landed a job in New York to a Top Notch publicist Jennifer Weinstein. As Taylor works for this dominatrix woman, he soon realizes that his life was spun by his boss with a world that he never though of having. Sex, Greed, Power and Fame. He rubs shoulders with famous celebrities, getting reservations at the hottest restaurants, receiving designer clothes and all other perks that you can’t get from a normal job. With all of this, he will soon finds himself struggling on balancing the old and new Taylor.
Here’s a preview of the book (video):
The book hits US stores on August 18, 2009. I need to make a quick phone call to Fullybooked to check on the ETA of the book. Gawd! Another book to be added on my collection and I haven’t finished reading Harry Potter and Shopaholic and the baby yet.
