First it was L’Oreal then followed by Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH) and now its Steve Madden.
Ebay is facing yet another lawsuit for showcasing counterfeited items again on their website. Steve Madden claims that Ebay is selling fake watches on their online marketplace which remains to be on their website after Steve Madden sent a letter ordering the online store to remove the fake items online.
Just last year, eBay was also sued by Tifanny and Co. for allowing its users to sell fake T&Co jewelries online. However, eBay prevailed and ruled out Tifanny’s assertion that eBay did not do enough to thwart counterfeiters. Steve Madden may have a strong case as they have told eBay that all watches are fake while on Tifanny’s case, some are authentic.
Only LVMH have won a $63 Million trial over eBay. Will Steve Madden second that?
