The Journey Of A Simple Guy In Finding The Best Of Life
29 May
After my short trip in Greenbelt and Rockwell last Friday to look for Reiko’s shoes to match her dress for her birthday and Chanel’s outfit for her 1st Month-Day, my sister had to pick me up in Power Plant as Aunt Hattie will meet her friend Tito Edwin who lives close to our home. I haven’t taken my lunch yet that time so I bought a take away snack to munch inside the car.
They dropped me off at our house and left again to meet Tita’s friend at SM Fairview (of all places). While waiting for them, I laid down and had a quick nap as I haven’t had a decent sleep this week due to our trip and double shift in the office.
Tita asked me to go along with her at the Resorts World as she wanted to play at the casino since she haven’t had much in Macau. Since we are planning to dine in at Yakimix on Saturday and have our dinner at Johnny Rockets, I packed my stuffs and go with them.
My first Johnny Rockets experience is when my Aunt Jocelyn in New Jersey dragged me to shop in Garden State Mall. It’s not love at first bite but it was ok. Yes, the burger is big and juicy, so what!? I’m not a burger lover. Give any kind of burger and I’ll eat it as long as it’s not uber dry and make sure put some dressing in it even just Mayo. This is the reason why I didn’t give that much shit when the first store opened in Eastwood.
That girl at the center is the Best in Participation Winner!
Dwayne wanted his own jukebox so we requested to moved to another table. However, it’s not working so he had to use the main juke box for the crew to dance.
I actually forgot what Dwayne had chosen but Aunt Hattie wanted to join the staffs!
..and Chanel seems to be enjoying too!
So there goes our Friday night… we weren’t able to make it at the Casino as the weather calls for a great rest!

After claiming my gift pack in Shangri La, I took a cab to Megamall (yes I took a cab ‘coz its too Hot to walk along Edsa) to check some stuffs for my future niece at Sanrio and to meet my sister.
We bought some baby clothes from Gift Gate and check out the other Sanrio shop in Building A. Sanrio don’t have stock of the bag we were looking for so they have to check on other branch who has one. The attendant told us they have one in Greenhills so we decided to drive to Greenhills so we can try dining in at the infamous Lugang Cafe.
It was too early to dine in at Lugang as it was Tea Time when we found the place. We decided to buy the stuffs we needed in Sanrio be back during dinner time.
Lugang Cafe is owned by Peter and Annie Chua who serves cuisine from Taiwan, Beijing and Shanghai. It is said that the owners of Lugang lives in front of the restaurant which I think is a good move in setting up a business since you can look over your business 24/7.
At first look, Lugang’s exterior and interior can be intimidating as it has the look and feel of a fine dining. I like the look of the high ceiling area. You can enjoy the water falls like on the wall, the overhanging lights are magnificent, the doors, and the chairs and tables.
We supposed to drive back to Lugang by 6PM we spent quite some time in car displays and 5th wheel insurance terms. So we arrived few minutes before 7PM which is just right in time that parking area is not yet jam packed.
Here’s what we ordered:
For someone who have tried Din Tai Fung already, there’s always high expectations when dining in a restaurant who serves Xiao Long Bao. I have tried several places here in Manila that offers XLB but I can say Lugang’s Xiao Long Bao’s the best in Manila. Of course no match for Din Tai Fung’s.
As a whole, the food is great and dimsums are the best. However, their servings too small for our appetite (that we have to order another set of fried rice and a cup of plain rice for our satisfaction) and for the price. But dining in a place with such great ambience, I don’t have any complaints. Not to mention that I’ve enjoyed my Cranberry Juice – the best so far!
Here’s the address and other information:

Last Thursday, our trainer brought something to eat in the office to celebrate her first year in the company. She cooked meatless spaghetti, baked macaroni and adobo pasta.
Yes, you read that right… adobo pasta. I was actually not surprised when she told me about adobo. What I was surprised about are the ingredients you needed to add on the pasta before you eat it.
I love to eat.. isn’t it obvious with my slender body? I love to try different kinds of food except for those exotic ones. So after few minutes of thinking, I gave in and try the pasta and to my amazement, the pasta is delish that I asked for the recipe and tried it at home!
Sorry for the picture qualities… I’m poor.. can’t afford to buy a camera…

i so love mushrooms, thought of adding a can
I so love it! Thanks Mollie!

Thank God Its Saturday!
The last remaining Team Sixers members with constant communication had an early dinner at TGIF last night.
We ordered Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad, Nachos and Cajun Shrimp and Chicken Pasta.
For drinks we had Cosmopolitan, Margarita and H20. I end up drinking all alcoholic drinks!
After Legally Blonde, Cristy and I had coffee at MC Home Depot before calling the night.
She is loving the iPad!
