The Journey Of A Simple Guy In Finding The Best Of Life

First shift of the week is normally tiring and boring day for me. You have to hire someone to pull me out of bed just to start prepping up for work. Working in BPO is very stressful that you’ll look wasted even if you’ve just arrived at work. But to my surprise last night is just not any other night.
It was already 10PM when I reached for my phone to check if there are any messages or calls that I missed when I was sleeping. I haven’t checked my phone the entire day so I shouldn’t be surprised if I’ve got 6 messages that I wasn’t able to read.
Two messages were forwarded by Orville, One from Japoks reminding me about his iPod, two from Globe and one from Cathy. When I read the last message from Cathy, it just made me jump out of the bed and head straight to take a shower.
I remember the last time I did that is when I was still in highschool wherein I end up with severe joint pain after hurriedly running down the stairs with a pair of roller skates on my feet. That made my arm dislocated for a while. However, this time I made sure that I won’t get into any accident and move as fast and careful as I can just to be in the office right away.

As soon as I’ve reached my workstation, my Top Pot Doughnuts are already waiting for me! Monday is Manic for Starbucks this month as they’ve brought those hand forged doughnut from Seattle here in the Philippines!

Got Old Fashioned Original Glaze and Chocolate Old Fashioned cake.

For others, Motivation is the key to success. For me, Americano is the key to sleepless years!
And since I’ve got a coupon to be the lucky person to taste the new Espresso Java Chip Frap… I surrender my stub and claim my first trip to heaven! YUM-Oh! I tell you! Those whipped cream is to die for!

Starbucks is campaigning for Clean and Green Philippines… I, on the other hand is campaigning for more transfers with my money tree (courtesy of sir rex)!

Well at least in Germany…

Just imagine if our McDonald’s would come of something like this, which area in Metro Manila would they focus on?
Would it be Makati – Ayala, Rockwell, Salcedo and Legazpi
For Manila – Quiapo, Tondo, Recto and Divisoria
In Quezon City – Eastwood, Araneta, Timog and Circle

“Chelsea was once terribly hip, sometimes not, and then again. Was that too fast? Well, that’s New York. My tip: just relax on the harbor or simply sit by the lake and a chocolate cup-cake with your personal feeling happy period Chelsea.”

“Here come from the most famous artists in New York. And here in dozens of tourists looking for new art galleries. I now play Andy Warhol once and tell everything what I like to art. This cappuccino cup cake = for example: all great art.”

“Sightseeing? Everything here is worth seeing: catch at the Houston Street, and work your way slowly through the south. Or get just a bit of Soho in your home country: After a spree breath through your town a bit and draw the view once again small. At Vanilla cup-cake, perhaps. But only briefly, because he is sooo yummy.”

Lo and Behold Starbucks Addicts… Nothing beats your Manic Monday by getting a cup of Hot Starbucks Coffee and a piece of Top Pot Doughnut from Seattle, Washington!

You heard me right. There’s no need for us to fly thousands of miles just to have a taste of this hand-forged doughnut. Starbucks is bringing these yummy pastries here in the Philippines!
Top Pot is a family owned business started by Mark and Michael Klebeck in a small brick storefront on north Capitol Hill in Seattle last 2002. They were handpicked by Starbucks in 2005 to carry the doughnut line in their stores. And for four consecutive Mondays, Starbucks Philippines will showcase 3 variants of their doughnut line: Glazed Old Fashion, Chocolate Old Fashion and Apple Fritters.

To those coffee addicts like me who can’t get enough of Venti size Americano, here comes a new size that will surely satisfy our need for more caffeine every morning!
Plenta – from the Italian word plentiful is making its way to some US and Canadian Starbucks store after attending to their customers pleading for a bigger size of coffee drink.
Aside from giving you 128 fl oz of coffee drink and sleepless days, this cup can be used for popcorn receptacle, rain hat, perennial planter, lampshade or yoga block. That’s the good thing about Starbucks. They’re not after customer’s satisfaction but also a friend to the environment.
I just can’t wait say my revised spiel…
FROM “One Hot Venti Americano with 2 Splenda please!”….
TO “One Hot PLENTA Americano with 10 Splenda please!”
By the way, Starbucks also added a new smaller cup called Micra for 2 fl oz of drink.
Updates: Sobrang late na April Fools ito ha… bwisit! ekchited pa naman ako!

I love cakes and dessert pies but this is like the first time I’ve ever eaten a cake with “pork meat” as one of the layers in the pie!
Ok.. ok.. it’s not pork actually… I was thinking that it’s a caramel syrup turned into pork meat.. lawl!

Mami Grace, gave me a slice of pie this morning in the office. She told me that she saw this pie at Banapple and thought of buying one for me as she knows that I’m addicted to coffee.
As I was updating my other blog and enjoying the cold breeze of my newly cleaned AC system, I grabbed the pie from the fridge to add up some much needed calories in my body.
When I sinked in my teaspoon on to the cake to taste my first coffee bite, I was smelling a not too rich coffee aroma. This gave me some excitement and eagerness to have my first bite but to my surprise… it was lite… so lite that I can’t even taste the coffee.
Coffee Toffee Roca Pie is composed of four layers. The crust (pie), the caramel-pork-like layer, the coffee-jam/jelly and the creme/icing.
The crust – I don’t know if they’ve used graham on it but it’s not that sweet!

Caramel – I swear, I tried to take photo using my phone’s cam but I can’t get a clear picture of this layer. I can’t figure out if it’s caramel syrup since the texture is like pork or beef meat. It can’t be syrup ‘coz its chewy!
Coffee Jam/Jelly – Here’s another layer that I can’t actually understand if it’s a jam or a jelly. This layer is too sticky and heavy to be called jelly. Janice na lang kaya? LOL
Cream – Like Banoffee pie, the cream is very lite. Get one of those French Vanilla 3-in-1 instant coffee, add lots of water… then whisk until it thickens… top with almonds and pecans then there you have the roca part.
This pie is for those coffee lover who are following a strict diet just like myself (less the diet part as we all know I don’t need that). It’s for those people who don’t drink coffee but orders Venti size Mocha Frap at Starbucks (nope, I’m not talking about you Japoks).
Thanks Mami Grace for the pie! Naubos ko siya… ng walang pagiimbot at buong katapatan! LOL
