You’ve got to be kidding me!
This new restaurant in Makati is making a buzz right now in Twitter and please with this kind of introduction on their website, I’m sure a lot of eyebrows will be at least 5 inches high for quite a while.
This is UPPER EAST, the new restaurant that turns your concept of fine dining over on its ear.
A word to the wise: UPPER EAST is not for those sans chutzpah and those unwilling to pay for the price for a taste of New York style.
Run by the chefs and students of AHA Philippines, UPPER EAST’s interiors are done in modern chic, urban classic, design reminiscent of New York’s Upper East Side apartments. Wooden chandeliers complete the picture of a restaurant that may just be too chic for its clients.
From the regular menu of American classic and fusion, to weekly specials from different world cuisines, to fine wines from all over the world, you can expect only the very best offerings from AHA’s culinary expertise delivered to your table.
Just don’t expect to dine whenever you want to.
After all, UPPER EAST is not always open for business. We close our doors when we want to, and we certainly won’t wait around for guests who, frankly, need to get a move on. No lunch is served after 1 p.m. and no dinner after 9 p.m.
UPPER EAST is not for the weak of heart. Expect to be serenaded, as you sip your wine and savor every bite of your meal, by the screaming and ranting of our compulsive Executive Chef for whom incompetence is a crime, set against a sonic backdrop of AHA students sobbing and scrambling to do his bidding.
UPPER EAST is not for scrooges and stiffs. We tolerate sharing, although it’s not exactly de rigeur, is it? As for splitting? The fine is set at P250, not including our wait staff looking down their noses at you.
This is the UPPER EAST experience. And this is the price you pay… if you can get in.
I think the person behind this uproarious article achieved his goal… to catch some attention. And with that, I can see myself having a power lunch one of these days at this cozy hysterical place.

Rainy Days and Mondays always let me down… but not this time… Just had a great time with family and cousins in Megamall and Fort Bonifacio…
We should do this more often… Next Monday in Tagaytay?

If America is celebrating Labor Day on Monday, here in Manila we had a Special Non-Working Holiday due to the INC’s head interment. I was planning to stay at home the entire day due to heavy traffic in Central area.
Around 1:40 PM, I got a call from my cousin asking me to meet them up in Serendra for a dinner. That’s when I decided to call on my Hair Technician to reschedule my appointment.

After buying toys from Toy Kingdom in pathetic Megamall for the kids, we head straight to Serendra and buy some few boxes of pastries for our relatives and cupcakes for dessert.

These photos were taken using my phone as I was not able to grabbed all the photos taken last night from my cousin and sister’s camera. The kids just had a great time with their toys and running around High Street amidst of the rain showers.
Sadly, I picked up the wrong cupcake last night from the bag. I brought home Cookie Monster instead of my Chocolate Cream cupcake. I hate! My sweet tooth is not satisfied!
