Yabu

I’ve been longing to satisfy my craving for authentic Japanese Katsu… the best I’ve tried so far in Manila is Crazy Katsu in Maginhawa Street. However, it’s not authentic Japanese Katsu.

Last November 11, this new Japanese restaurant opened in Mega Palengke. I’ve heard good reviews and a lot of people are tweeting on how good the food they serve. Since then, I’ve been wanting to try their Chicken Katsu and Oyster Katsu but the place is always packed whenever I’m in the area.

Good thing my good friend Cristy BBMd me earlier asking for Salon Day. I just woke up from my more than 12 hours of sleep trying to gain back my energy from my recent Business Trip in Davao. We decided to meet at the Salon and told her not to eat lunch as we will be dining in at Yabu.

Picture Taking Before Ordering

After placing our orders, the attendant served the sesame seeds with the pestle. The pestle will be used to crush the sesame seeds that you will be mixing in with your Tonkatsu sauce.

Cristy ordered the Rosu Pork Katsu Set while I had Chicken Katsu Set and an ala carte Oyster Katsu.

The Katsu dishes are so crispy and so tender! It’s not like other Katsu offered in our local restaurants that they have more breading than meat. It was so good!

Although the dishes are so good, the star of the dinner is the lip-smacking white sesame cream sauce! It was so delicious that I had three sets of cabbage! I super love it!

I’m so coming back to this place and try the Katsudon and Scallops!
